New Windshield

Ordered a Windshield from Clearview Windshield for my Harley-Davidson 2008 Road Glide a few weeks ago. It came in last week on Wednesday and I installed it Friday night. The windshield is a GT Large, with a light grey tint and a vent added to keep me cool when it's hot.

The standard Harley-Davidson windshield on my Road Glide was about 2" shorter than I needed.

When I bought my bike last year I did buy a Klock Werks 12" Flare windshield from Kustom Baggers and I did not like it, so I put the original windshield back on and I have been procrastinating ever since to get another windshield. I should have done it earlier, that 2" makes all the difference in the world. I have only rode with the new windshield a few hours here and there, but I already love it.

Here are some more photos.

Hill Country Day 4

My last day in Bandera, packed up the Uni-Go and met up with the guys at OST for breakfast.

We headed out after fueling up, we took Hwy 16 West and turned on Hwy 45 to loop around the North side of San Antonio.

We ran on old Hwy 90 most of the way back to Houston. We stopped for lunch in Schulenburg. I stopped in Katy to visit with Kevin & Barbara to see their new house before getting home.

What a great weekend, even with the rain. The Texas Hill Country is one of my favorite trips for getting away for a long weekend to ride.

Hill Country Day 3

SunShine!

Woke up with sunshine around 8AM and met everyone at OST for Breakfast. After discussing everybody's route for the day, I was on my own on this beautiful day.

After Breakfast I took off towards Burnet to meet Mom and Dad After there Train Ride on the Hill Country Flyer from Cedar Park. I found them at the 7 to 11 store on Jackson St.

After a short visit and made sure all was good with there trip I headed over to Llano to grab lunch at Cooper's Pit Bar-B-Que. Copper's is the best damn Bar-B-Que I have ever had on this planet, Period! The brisket was just as I remember it, put a fork it and it falls apart, Tender and juicy. Oh, and don't forget to make room for the blueberry cobbler.

Did I say how great Cooper's Pit Bar-B-Que was? OK, I ran down to the city park in Llano to check out the Crawfish fest after lunch and waked off some of that great Bar-B-Que. The Crawfish fest was interesting.

I hopped on Hwy 16 and headed South, caught Ranch Road 965 and stopped at the Enchanted Rock State Park. I hike up to the summit, took many photos and watched the Boy Scouts repel off the side of the mountain. We never did that when I was in Boy Scouts. I hiked for 2 hours and did not have much time to explore other parts of the park (Getting close to 5 PM).

Stopped for gas on the south end of Fredericksburg and I notice a lot of Volks Wagons running around. I followed one over to Lady Bird Johnson Park Dam and found out they were having a VW Rally. It way cool, all kinds of models and even a VW Fire Truck.

When I got to my motel in Bandera (6:30 PM) I had very little time to get cleaned up for dinner at the China Bowl. I had a great dinner with some great friends.

What a great day for riding in the Hill Country!

Hill Country Day 2

Rain!

Woke up with it raining. We met for breakfast at the OST restaurant.

After great breakfast I did some shopping, but did not buy anything and then I decided to go take a nap till the rain let up.

CJ called me and woke me up around noon. The rain did stop and I decided that I was not to venture far from Bandera and going to check out some back roads that I have not been on and everybody else followed.

We ended up at Koyote Ranch 5 miles North of Medina for a late lunch and to let the other guys check the place out. Everyone loves the places and we'll see if the Star Riders want to stay here in September.

After checking out Koyote Ranch we headed down to Medina to Love Creek Orchards for some Apple Ice Cream. it started to rain again so we sat out the rain for about an hour and then we headed back to Bandera.

For some reason I felt really tired so I took another nap.

Around 8 PM I met up with everyone for dinner at the Texarita. The Garden Salad was great.

Afterwards I met everyone at Lost Valley Resort for social time and drinks. I called it a night around midnight.

Hill Country Day 1

It's that time of year again, to head out to the Texas Hill Country. Met up with the guys (Roy & CJ, Bobbie, Bill, And Steve) at our standard meeting place at the Waffle House on I-10 and Hwy 6. We left out of Houston around 10 AM on I-10 till we got out of Houston and hopped on Hwy 90A. We stayed on Hwy 90A till Hwy 49 and headed to Gruene for Lunch.

We stopped at Janie's Table to find out they were closed, so we went down the block and ate at the Gruene River Grill. Teann and Randy also met up with us for lunch. Wile we were eating it started to rain a little. The weather had been hold off all morning till now.

After a Great lunch with friends and food we rand over to Gruene Harley-Davidson to check out the place. I bought a t-shirt (I usually do).

After Checking out Gruene Harley-Davidson we headed towards Bandera with light rain off and on all the way there. We got in to Bandera around 5 PM.

I stayed in the River Front Motel everybody else is staying at the Lost Valley Resort. After checking in to our hotels, we went to La Brisa Mexican Restaurant Bar & Grill. It a new restaurant and the food is good.

After dinner we called it a night.

Beside the rain it was a great day!

Uni-Go

Bill Jennings from Texas Uni-Go Trailers came to my house today and installed a new Hitch on my Harley Road Glide and delivered my new to me Uni-Go Trailer. I have been looking at these trailers for a couple years now and found one used and took the plunge.
I had Bill clean up the trailer and fix the body before he delivered it. I will get it painted later this month to match my bike (Pearl Black).

After trying to pick it up a couple weeks ago Bill was nice to offer to deliver it to my home (Thanks Bill!).

When I fist saw the trailer, my thoughts were wow it's bigger than I thought it would be. The photo from the web make it look smaller. It looks like a very large suitcase with a wheel.
It is lined with a Light and power plug inside.
After Bill was done I took it for a spin around the block. I could not even tell it was there.

I'll be going to Bandera Texas this weekend and it will be the trailers first trip (With Me), I'll let you know how well it works.
